The biggest and most popular fashion event , Met Gala, just took place on May 5, 2025. The glorious event saw celebrities put on their best fashion game to turn the spotlight on them. The event saw many Indian celebrities make a bold style statement with their outfits putting heavy focus on tradition and culture while perfectly blending with the theme – Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, a theme that stood as a celebration of Black dandyism. Indian designers have been ruling the fashion industry globally in recent years. The Indian celebrities’ style at Met Gala 2025 roared and honoured the Indian craftsmanship and culture.
Designers like Sabyasachi, Manish Malhotra and Gaurav Gupta put on their best show for the event, with outfits that left people in praise of the Indian talent. Last year it was Alia Bhatt that had everyone completely speechless with her Sabyasachi floral saree with her long trail, and this year too, the Indians did not come here to play, but set the standard for Indian fashion going forward.
Look at the Indian celebrities style at Met Gala 2025 in detail:
1. Shah Rukh Khan

The King Khan of Bollywood, made an iconic appearance as the first Indian male actor to walk the carpet in his all black outfit. The Baadshah of Bollywood as he is known, wore a Sabyasachi suit and added many statement jewels to complete his look. The huge K pendant danging down his neck was the centre of attention of the whole look. Mr King Khan carried a cane to put emphasis on back dandyism and completed his look with classic black leather boots and shades. Shah Rukh’s sweet disposition was cherry on top for the night.
2. Diljit Dosanjh

The Punjabi Munda, the man who is stealing hearts globally for his desi music, Diljeet Dosanjh understood the assignment very well. The man paid tribute to Maharaja Bhupinder Singh with his custom made outfit by Prabul Gurang. Diljeet dared to do something different but with the intention of being prideful of Indian history.
He seems to be clear about staying in touch with one’s roots with his Sherwani, a white cape, his turban and a kirpan. Iconic is a word for Diljeet’s royal outfit. It was definitely a proud moment for Indians to see their traditional outfit being the centre of attention at the global event.
3. Kiara Advani

A gold sculptural corset paired with a black gown and accompanied by a white and black long trail, Kiara knows how to slay. The soon to be mother, debuted in a Gaurav Gupta custom attire. A little golden heart hung around her belly signifying the heart beat of a little human inside her stomach. Gaurav’s idea was to show the connection between mother and child, through the two gold breastplates and heart connected by an umbilical cord. Kiara’s look was like an embracement of motherhood but in a stylish way.
4. Natasha Poonawalla

In her custom Manish Malhotra couture piece, Natasha Poonawalla’s look was hands down the best look of the night. Displaying her Parsi heritage at the forefront with a Parsi gara gown, paired with an embroidered jacket that blended so well with the Parsi gara. On top of it all, Natasha wore a sculptural lace cravat. The look was a fusion of Indian and European history, screaming power, artistry and ancient history.
5. Manish Malhotra

The style icon himself , Manish Malhotra made an iconic debut in his custom black sherwani with embellished cape. The outfit was full of intricate details like glass beadwork and heavy embroidery around the shoulders and waist. With the cape paired over a vest and tie, Manish’s look served as they say. He also layered his suit with brooches that were from his own jewellery line. The whole look was an embodiment of Indian craftsmanship blended with the theme of black dandyism.
6. Sabyasachi

Sabyasachi, the mastermind of designer clothes, wore his own label, carrying a beautiful ivory overcoat and styling it with white shirt and black trousers. Sabyasachi very gracefully blends Indian textiles and modern silhouettes to perfection. He added a velvet cap that had a jewelled plume in centre, a choker and some rings to make a statement.
7. Priyanka Chopra

The Desi girl, Priyyanka Chopra showed up in custom Balmain attire. Priyanka wore a long polka dotted skirt paired with a similar patterned blazer. Seems like polka dots are going to trend once again with her style statement. You know the girl loves jewelleries , as a big emerald Bulgari statement piece hung over her neck. Priyanka added a huge black hat and back gloves to complete her look. The woman never fails to leave people mesmerized and once again steals everyone’s heart.
8. Isha Ambani

Isha Ambani stepped in a custom Anamika Khanna piece that stood as a testament of Indian artistry and craftsmanship at the Met Gala. Her look featured a long handwoven Benarsi train, paired with an embroidered white corset and black pants. The woman wore a statement Cartier necklace too which was owned by the Maharaja of Nawanagar. Isha Ambani walked in style and her look was appreciated by all.

The Met Gala 2025 was once again a successful event with celebrities experimenting with fashion and trying to keep up with the theme.
